Fact-based story of three Jewish brothers (Daniel Craig, Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell) who strike back after the Nazis decimate their rural home area. Their resistance efforts attract others without a safe haven and before long, their camp in the woods becomes a growing village. The acting is aces and the first part of the film works well, but the screenplay bogs down in the second half, relying on movie clichés and somewhat dissipating the impact of the extraordinary occurrences. 136 minutes. DVD INFO: Includes a commentary track and featurettes. Rated R.
