-Mike Price and Diane Kondrat in ‘Happy Days’ at the Phoenix Theatre; 635-PLAY.-
I can’t image a more crack team of theater artists to tackle the rarely-produced Happy Days by Samuel Beckett. Director Martha Jacobs has assembled a magnificent cast of two — Diane Kondrat and Mike Price — to stage one of Beckett’s most complicated and compelling plays.
Kondrat is no stranger to Indianapolis audiences, with recent performances in The Goat, The Action Against Sol Schumann, Tongue of a Bird, The Vagina Monologues and True to Scale. Martha Jacobs is also well-known in the theater community, both as an accomplished actress and as a director. Price, better known in Bloomington, is one of the region’s most comically-gifted actors.
Happy Days plays for only two performances, tonight, April 21, at 6:30 and next Wednesday, April 28, also at 6:30, at the Phoenix Theatre, 749 N. Park Ave. Tickets are $22.50 and available at the door or by calling 635-PLAY.
