Conversations with God

Two stars (PG)

Henry Czerny, Vilma Silva, Bruce Page.

Biopic about Neale Donald Walsch, whose Conversations with God books have sold millions of copies. CwG is a slow-moving, dreary “birth of the book” story about how Walsch (Czerny, looking and sounding very much like Scott Bakula’s haggard cousin) went from car wreck victim left homeless to modern day prophet. Walsch talks in a deliberate fashion, coming off like a mopey New Age greeting card writer, and I’ve heard award show presenters reading cue card banter that sounded more spontaneous and realistic than the characters in this movie. 109 minutes.
