Keith McGill has a style that is smooth and temperate, and lacks any gaudy gimmicks or catch phrases, making him one of the best standup acts within earshot of Indiana. His material is positive and PG-13, yet still intelligently critical of the comical absurdities that are rampant in the Midwest (e.g. getting stuck behind half of a house on 465). The universally accessible content of his act stems from his warm modesty and big smile; the Louisville native is impossible not to like. He doesn't swing for the fences and not every joke will bring the house down, but everything he says generates consistent and sincere laughter. However, he has a tendency to laugh at his own jokes a little too much. While this detracts from his professionalism and command, it somehow adds to his living-room charm.
