The long-running CarmelFest will take place this year July 3, 12-10 p.m. and July 4, 12-10:30 p.m. at Carmel Civic Square (1 Civic Square in downtown Carmel). The festival includes a huge lineup of events, including a parade (Saturday at 10:30 a.m.), fireworks with synchronized music on 105.7 FM (Saturday at 9:45 p.m.), Freedom Run (Saturday at 8 a.m. starting at Carmel High School), continuous live music and entertainment on three stages, kids events, food and so much more. See the unique and awe-inspiring when the Blue Monkey Sideshow performs Friday at 7 p.m. on the North Zone Stage. Check out a video of the Monkeys by Tara Woods at www.nuvo.net/videos. Admission is free. The Kids Zone requires tickets for the activities and rides; proceeds from those ticket sales are donated to local charities.
