Campaign diary of Dan Ditch, candidate for governor, as he drives hither and yon, crossing the great state of Indiana. Tuesday, Highway 421 (near Radioville) Parked near a roadside bowling alley this afternoon, just outside this evocatively named little burg, I mean, town. Two guys sitting at a dimly lit bar. No one bowling. I tried to introduce myself. One guy cleared his throat in such a way I was afraid he would spit. Decided this stop not such a great idea. Tuesday night, Matey’s in Michigan City Told the perch here are terrific. That may be true, but I find it’s kind of difficult selling my program of public/private partnerships when a wet T-shirt contest is going on in the same room. So I shut up and tried to enjoy myself. My goodness, Indiana is a bountiful state, indeed. Later that night … Our sleep disturbed by citizens exercising their constitutional right to bear arms. Note to self: Not another night in Gary. Leave it for the other side. Amen. (to be continued)
