Cadillac Records

Chronicle of the rise and fall of Cadillac Records, which launched the careers of Muddy Waters (Jeffrey Wright), Etta James (Beyonce Knowles) and Chuck Berry (Mos Def), and label founder Leonard Chess (Adrian Brody), who scoured the South, checking out the various blues scenes and selling records from the back of his Cadillac. The film is a standard-issue musical biopic, but I was so interested in these particular musicians that I didn't mind the clichés. Also starring Gabrielle Union, Columbus Short and Cedric the Entertainer. 108 minutes. DVD INFO: Includes a commentary track, deleted scenes and featurettes.
