Here’s an all-star line-up — and a great cause. Fourteen of the city’s finest professional vocalists will do their thing, sing jazz, blues and Broadway to benefit the Beckmann Theatre. Bob Beckmann was a generous supporter of the arts, an urban pioneer and performer in his own right, who passed away in 2001. The Beckmann Theatre was founded in his honor to nurture and promote Indiana theater artists.
Proceeds from the second annual Cabaret Fest will support the Beckmann’s programs. Performers at this year’s show include a who’s who of performers who have been seen on numerous local stages. The show is directed by Tom Alvarez with musical direction by American Cabaret Theatre’s John Austin Butsch.
Cabaret Fest 2007 takes place Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. at the American Cabaret Theatre, 401 E. Michigan St. Tickets are $35 for general admission; $50 for VIP seating and a reception immediately preceding the performance; $100 includes a champagne gathering with the cast after the show.
