Buck Creek presents 'Grey Gardens'

The true story of Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis' eccentric relatives will be presented at Buck Creek Players. The U.S. community theater premiere of the Tony Award-winning Grey Gardens: The Musical will be on stage May 29-June 14.

The show features the aunt and first cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis: Edith ("Big Edie") Ewing Bouvier Beale and her daughter Edith ("Little Edie") Bouvier Beale became East Hampton's most notorious recluses, living in a dilapidated 28-room mansion alongside dozens of cats and piles of rubbish. Set in two eras -- in 1941 when the estate was at its full grandeur and in 1973 after it had been reduced to squalor -- Grey Gardens chronicles the unique and memorable tale of fallen American royalty.

Curtain times are Fridays-Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $16, $14 for students and senior citizens. For reservations, call 317-862-2270. Buck Creek Playhouse is located at 11150 Southeastern Ave. For more information, go to www.buckcreekplayers.com.
