Indy band Bleeding Keys, has made their presence in the music scene a lot larger. They recently signed with Klipsch Audio as an official sponsor. I met with four of the five band members in Military Park to discuss the details of the sponsorship as well as some of their upcoming music. (Not only are these gentlemen very talented musicians but they are also a pleasant group to be around and interact with -- certainly some guys I wouldn't mind grabbing a beer with.)
The newly gained sponsorship will hopefully establish out of state credibility for the band, as well as boost local awareness of their performances and music.
"The main thing is it gives us credibility when we're trying to get shows out of state. As you know it's very hard to get shows when nobody knows you." Jeremy Johnson said. Johnson is the lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist for the band and also the primary songwriter
The band wants to do a small tour after they release their first full-length album, which will be out later this year. This newly gained sponsorship will undoubtedly help them to put on this tour.
I got to talk to the band about the details of this new album, which after the release on Nov. 7, they'll premier at Radio Radio.
These guys are really just excited to play and write music as they grow and mature together to create a sound that is it's own. The work that these guys are doing with Klipsch and in the local music scene is exactly what Indianapolis needs.
The band's next performance will be at the Rathskeller Downtown at the Rathskeller on June 13.
