Bauer is a pure textbook comedian, and his routine is as well-polished as it is well-traveled. But many of his jokes were predictable and cliché, as he dabbled with tired concepts such as women going to the bathroom in packs and the state of Florida looking like a penis. Bauer was set up beautifully by featured act Mike Speenburg, whose self-aware Southern charm was personable, intriguing and had a subtle undertone of modest ingenuity. His candor was refreshingly original, and established a standard of humorous creativity that Bauer was not quite able to match. However, Bauer's professional ability to generate moderate laughter out of simplistic jokes - which are seemingly taken from a Comedy Central Presents
highlight reel - made for an enjoyable, if unoriginal, set.
