Between spoken word and rap

Fallon L. Taylor-Gray (DaT mCeEpoEt) will headline “Glasshouse Music Presents Poetry Night” at Club Escalade on June 9 from 6-10 p.m. Taylor-Gray was born in Indianapolis, but grew up in New York City, where she worked for a time as a Barbizon model. Since returning to Indy she has performed at Indiana Black Expo and opened for Petey Pablo at the Murat. Bruce George, co-founder of Def Poetry Jam, has written, “Fallon is one of the few MCs that can tight rope between spoken word and rap (spokenrap). She’s lyrically precocious.” Club Escalade is located at 6700 E. 38th St. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
