Luke Austin Daugherty

These past few years have been transformative for poet, songwriter, author, former preacher, Internet video maker, visual artist, etc. Luke Austin Daugherty. Case in point is his 2013 album Half Life. Half of the songs on the album were written while he was a practicing Christian, the other half while he was a practicing (?) atheist. Not that his music or poetry was narrowly Christian before. Characteristic of his slice-of-life storytelling approach is his Chicago Bus Stop Diaries, which tells the “short history of eighteen people, at one Chicago bus stop, on one morning on the Spring of 2011.”
