IU law prof Bill Oliver founded his namesake winery in the 1960s, and, in addition to helping legalize the selling of at least some kind of booze on Sunday in this red state fulla blue laws, they make some pretty fine vino there just outside Bloomington. There’s more than the semi-sweet stuff available — Oliver even has a premium label called Creekbend that showcases grapes like the Hoosier-friendly chambourcin. The main tasting room is a big, plush space on Route 37 by their vineyards and there’s a wine bar in downtown Bloomington, too.
