When the food is good and inexpensive, it's hard to turn down, but when it's also some of Indy's best Cajun in some of its funkier dining spaces, well, it's a place to take out-of-towners to show them how cool the city can be. Gumbo, chili-cheese etouffée, succotash - all of it delicious and all for a pittance. King David Dogs makes some darned good workingman's grub as well.
