Broad Ripple Brewpub
kicks off its 25th anniversary March 20 with an open house showcasing its interior makeover (check out the spiffy restrooms) and four distinctive single-hop brews by BRBP’s sixth headbrewer Jonathon Mullens. The single-hopped brews include:
, recently released by Yakima Chief Ranch
in Washington State. It is an all-purpose aroma, flavoring and bittering hop with a complex aroma and finishes clean. The delights of Mosaic prompted Mullens to create a quartet of single-hop brews. ”I want our patrons to experience the distinctive qualities of signature hops.”
has been a “cornerstone of English brewing since the late 1800’s,” explains Mullens. Fuggle’s mild, woodsy and herbal aroma opens into a malt-centric, low alcohol ale.
developed at Oregon State University in the 1970s, is embraced by homebrewers for its distinctive aroma, flavor and bittering qualities.
developed in Germany around 2012, is also highly aromatic with pleasant mint overtones. Mullens describes Polaris as temperamental with an attitude toward mating with malts and yeast.
After a five-year run, Cutters Brewing
has closed its doors. We look forward to its recipes re-appearing, especially give their specific connection to Southern Indiana.
Oaken Barrel’s Caldwell’s Scottish Ale
honors the late Jim Caldwell. Undead Red is brewed with a blend from Greenwood’s Strange Brew Coffee Co.
Taxman’s Hop Collector Belgian IPA
is “cask conditioned and dry hopped with Saaz and Chinook.”

Indiana City’s Black Lantern
is a dry-hopped Black IPA with dark roasted malt flavor and bright herbal, earthy pine aroma. Dock 7 American IPA gifts strong fresh hop aroma and flavor.
BRBP’s Dual Citizenship
brewed with English and American hops yields high aroma and flavor. Boro Brown delivers hints of caramel and chocolate. Lost Red Glove Irish Red brings subtle caramel notes with a roasty finish coupling with rich herbal balance from Willamette hops’ clean-crisp qualities.
