Southampton's Band of Skulls stop at the Vogue tonight with songs from new album Himalayan in tow. We brought back our occasional feature, High Five, wherein we ask the group to speak a bit about their five favorite records to listen to on tour. WIth all that time in the van, what's more essential than a bunch of good albums for the road?

NUVO: Any good memories of touring through Indianapolis? I'm almost afraid to ask, but ... any bad?

Band of Skulls: No bad! We had a great show last time. Our band works well in a theatre. The crowd were really up for a good night last time which always makes the whole experience memorable.

NUVO: What's been different for this tour than any other?

Band of Skulls: We get to pick from three albums to build a really great live set. We have more production this time too so the show feels more dramatic and shows the songs at their best.

NUVO: How have songs from your new record evolved on stage in surprising ways?

Band of Skulls: They all evolve in their own way, whether its adding or extending sections or just trying to catch each other out.

NUVO: What are five albums you've been listening to on this tour?

1. Lee Scratch Perry - The Arkology box set featuring all the tracks Lee Scratch Perry recorded at the legendary Black Ark studios. Some heavy dub and great effects. An impressive back catalogue.

2. The Everley Brothers - The Hits, and there are so many. Beautiful harmonies, great melodies, heartbreaking songs. Favourites include "I Wonder If I Care As Much" and "I'm Here To Get My Baby Out Of Jail"

3. Fat White Family - Champagne Holocaust, wild, ramshackle, unpredictable, seedy suggestive and brilliant. Two fingers up at rock n roll by numbers.

4. The Herbaliser - Very Mercenary, Released in 1999 on ninja tune, I'm revisiting it. timeless. Its 60's spy funk with hot guest spots from Roots Manuva and What What.

5. Tune Yards - Nikki Nack, This a brilliant follow up to the last record. Always interesting musical ideas. Cool rhythms and vocals. I like her style.
