The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will return to the Hilbert Circle Theatre after their summertime stint outdoors at Conner Prairie to open their season with the annual “Opening Night Gala” Sunday, Sept. 10.
The eight internationally-acclaimed violinists who will serve as jurors for the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis will join the ISO and Conductor Laureate Raymond Leppard for a program featuring the soloists performing masterpieces by Antonio Vivaldi and Pablo De Sarasate to kick off the ISO’s 2006-2007 season.
The event begins in the massive tent on Monument Circle with a pre-concert reception for all concertgoers beginning at 5 p.m. that will include complimentary beverages and specialty dishes provided by local restaurants; a post-concert event in the tent features an elaborate gourmet dinner prepared by Hoaglin Fine Catering for those who purchase special Benefactor, Patron or Friend tickets. The concert is at 6 p.m.
Tickets to the “Opening Night Gala” are $34, $52 and $72 each. Special packages, which include priority seating, valet parking, a concert ticket, the pre-concert reception and the post-concert dinner, are $225 (Friend), $325 (Patron) and $425 (Benefactor) each.
