Broad Ripple is meant for pedestrians — it’s a great place to walk year ’round. This is especially true when the district opens its art galleries to the public for the annual Broad Ripple Gallery Walk Sept. 12, 5-10 p.m. Nineteen art galleries, artist studios and specialty shops will host free exhibits and presentations. Galleries on the walk include the Hoosier Salon Gallery, Artifacts, Sigman’s Gallery, Der Glass Werks Art Glass Studio and many more.
The Indianapolis Art Center will be at the epicenter of the evening’s festivities, with shows by Kay Clay, Ellie Siskind and Susan Hodgin, plus the annual Faculty Show and Best of Student Show Award Winners. The IAC will also offer art demonstrations in studios, a “Create a Cheesecake” activity, steel drum music, food and drink, not to mention a sale in the Frank M. Basile Studio Shop with 30 percent off paintings and prints.
