Album review: Jason Mann, "Mannic Sentiment" 

Whois Louis, this time recording under his government name, Jason Mann, veers off into new territory with his release Mannic Sentiment. "We may be through with the past," a voice states on the opening track. It's an understatement once one listens further. Hard drums accent ever-evolving, post-apocalyptic melodies on top of which Mann self-analyzes in an honest and appealing fashion. While glimmers of hope shine throughout, the majority of Mann's work takes on a darker sentiment. Mann crafts interesting and occasionally catchy hooks, and the songs' subjects are thoroughly explored.
