Go you crazy Hoosiers!
"Their presence in schools will serve to increase respect for law by students and also deter problems of bullying, weapons and drug abuse that must be addressed in schools every day,"
I recently heard Angela Davis (go ahead, research her) speak about "SROs". She made some interesting points. Such as who are the SROs allied with? The students? Or the Police? And isn't the presence of police (let's be honest) in our schools, the equivalent of saying our students are going to do something bad, so we have to be there? What sort of message is that to send to our students? We believe you are going to commit a crime in advance of you doing so.
Ms. Davis was much more eloquent about her dislike of the SRO program. And I don't claim to do her justice.
It does seem like an inexpensive way to "protect" our students. But don't forget. You always get what you pay for.
I'd be interested in reading more of Mr. Hamilton's thoughts on how Congress works these days.
What is this Utah?! They do the same thing. Makes no sense.
Humans can be assholes, plain and simple.
You really are a cyclist now. Good work.
It's embarrassing for sure.
