Eighty-five years ago, the Daughters of Indiana created an exhibition of art by Indiana painters at, of all places, Marshall Field's in Chicago. The annual Hoosier Salon exhibition was born. This year's juried show opens July 13 at the Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington St., and includes 138 winning entries by 109 artists. The show is open during regular museum hours. Admission is free for museum members; non-member tickets are $7, $6.50 for seniors, $4 children ages 3-12. For more information, go to www.hoosiersalon.org. The show runs through Sept. 6.
