7 Pleasures at Animals and All That Jazz

One of Indy's hotte

One of Indy's hottest new jazz sounds will debut at this week's Animals and All That Jazz presented by the IU Medical Group at the Indianapolis Zoo's Cafe on The Commons, Thursday, July 31. 7 Pleasures has been a regular fixture at the Jazz Kitchen since last year, when the group was founded. Co-leader Rob Dixon, saxophonist, composer and arranger, and David Allee, owner of the Jazz Kitchen and the group's trumpeter, conceived the idea of blowing straight-ahead jazz solos over an acid jazz and funk beat designed for dancing. Then they added a DJ scratcher to give a hip-hop spice to the overall sound.
7 Pleasures will perform at the zoo's Animals and All That Jazz Thursday.
