3. Divedapper Poetry Carnival

May 14, noon. From the organizer: "There will be unhealthy fried food and cotton candy and corndogs. There's going to be dunk tanks and face painting. But then, there's also going to be poetry readings by some of the premier poets in America." Sounds like a grand 'ole time.

5. Mutt Strut 2016

May 15, noon. This event is the largest annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Indianapolis. Money raised will help the non-profit organization fulfill its vision of ensuring that Central Indiana animals are treated with dignity and respect and live free from cruelty, harm and neglect.

6. Bigger Picture Show

May 13, 6:30 p.m. Local designers have reimagined classic movie posters through the eyes of the seven deadly sins. Celebrate this free gallery of 68 posters by snagging some grub from local food trucks.

7. Broad Ripple Art Walk

8. The Annual Punk Rock Prom

May 14, p.m. Baby, Punk Rock Prom is goin’ back to the ‘90s this year. Think flannel, lots of eyeliner, platform boots and cash for the jukebox. Lisa Frank and The Trapper Keepers, an Op Ivy tribute, L7 tribute and We Are Gentlemen will play.
