1. Stomp

March 4-5, 8 p.m. Is mayonnaise an instrument? Squidward says no. The performers of STOMP might disagree. Matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters and more fill the stage with energizing beats for this stage show that blends dance, music, and theatrical performance together in one electrifying rhythm.

2. Catwalk & Cocktails for Water

March 5, 8 p.m. Forget the red carpet, this "green carpet" event raises money for clean water initiatives in Indiana. Dress up in your best eco friendly (upcycled, recycled, vintage) fashion celebrate Earth in style.

3. IMEM Gallery Opening

March 4, 7 p.m. We wrote up IMEM last year when a collection of historically-minded locals started gathering resources and donations. Their efforts culimatined in the opening of their first gallery space, located in the Wheeler Arts building and opening doors this weekend. Daryl Spurlock will provide tunes.

REVIEW: Inaugural IMEM Pop-up

4. Best of the Heartland Film Festival

March 4-5, times vary. Four of last year’s Heartland Film Festival entries are playing for two nights at The Historic Artcraft Theatre. The selection opens with Waffle Street, a quirky comedy about a Wall Street broker turned waffle-maker. And it concludes with One Day in April, a dazzling documentary portrait of Bloomington’s Little 500 bike race.

5. Museum of Psychphonics Opening

March 4, 5 p.m. This delightfully unhinged gallery is the “spiritual sibling of the 24-Hour Church of Elvis, the Museum of Jurassic Technology, Marvin Johnson’s Gourd Museum,” etc. Head here for a description of the museum. A zine curated by Benjamin and Janneane Blevins, and featuring the writing of a variety of local writers, will be showcased. Oreo Jones, Sedcairn Archives and DJ Little Town will provide sonic accompaniment.

6. Women317: Homecoming

March 5, 6 p.m. This all women show features Latina immigrant artists and US-born artists focusing on the struggles of being undocumented women in Indiana and highlights ways artists and community advocates can make Indiana a more welcoming place for growing immigrant communities.

7. Special Olympics Indiana: Polar Plunge 2016

March 5, 10 a.m. Come watch team NUVO jump into the cold ass water at Eagle Creek. All proceeds from this event benefit Special Olympics athletes in the community.

9. Christian Atunde Adjuah Scott

March 6, 7 p.m. This Grammy-nominated, Edison Award-winning trumpet player and composer is young and extremely gifted. Fun fact: Scott once counted virtuoso bassist Esperanza Spalding in his ensemble.

10. Dance Kaleidoscope: Voices of a Generation

March 4-6, times vary. This concert is inspired by the freedom of expression, empowerment and upheaval in 1960s America.
