10 things to do this weekend

1. Brazilian Carnival

Feb. 6, 10 p.m. One of the best nights of dancing you’ll find all year long, Cultural Cannibals’ annual Carnaval is a celebration of all things Brazil.

What you’ll see: the IU Brazilian Percussion Ensemble, samba dancers, DJ Kyle Long on the stacks, visuals by artist Artur Silva, massive projections of the Rio and Bahia Caranval parades.

What you’ll consume: Brazilian beers, juices and soft drinks, plus the almighty caipirinha.

How you’ll feel: awesome.

This weekend, local musicians are performing in an all day music concert at The Fountain Square Brewery in order to raise awareness and bring relief to our neighbors to the North.

Bands performing: Veseria, Moxxie, Tied to Tigers, Audiodacity, Prowlers & the Prey, Sugar Moon Rabbit, Charlie Ballantine Trio, Minute Details, Jeff Byrd, Branch Gordon, Megan Hopkins, and Landon Keller.

5. ICON Live: Bob Marley Tribute

Feb. 6, 10 p.m. Doug Morris is celebrating 10 years of Old Soul with a run of killer parties, like this Saturday’s Bob Marley jamfest featuring Blackberry Jam and DJ Indiana Jones. 6. First Friday: What makes my heart beat

7. Mardi Gras on Main

Feb. 6, 6 p.m. Head to Speedway's Main Street Saturday for beads, beer, bourbon, music and more at this FREE event.

8. Cookies & Cars

Feb. 6, 1:30 p.m. We love cookies. We love cars. We love giving back. And luckily this event features all those things. A remix to the original Coffee & Cars held here in Indy, this charity event will benefit Carmel Dad’s Club Special Sports Program. The kiddos get to sit inside the cars, take pictures and learn about the vehicles. Naturally there will be cookies for everyone and door prizes for the lucky few! Baller.

9. WWE presents NXT Live

Feb. 6, 7:30 p.m. Note: I'm not a fan of wrestling. Given this info, this sounds like it will be a badass event. From what I can gather NXT is the little brother of WWE but audience members are usually way more involved in the act — How raw.

Old National Centre, 502 N. New Jersey St., prices vary.

10. Puppy Bowl Watch Party

Feb. 7, 11 a.m. If you live under a rock, there's a big football game this weekend. There's also the annual Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. Watch both while drinking beer from Lagunitas Brewing Co and Thirsty Dog Brewing Co. It's a classic win-win situation.
