Years ago, when the RCA Dome was demolished, the work of People for Urban Progress was just getting started. These master repurpose-ers saved 13 acres of the dome material to use as shade structures in Indy’s parks and to make a bunch of kick-ass bags, wallets and purses. And watch what they’re doing with salvaged seats from Bush Stadium! (Hint, keep an eye on IndyGo bus stops.) PUP also advocates for stronger public transportation and good urban design to help Indianapolis become more sustainable, and is working to get a car-sharing program up and running to make not owning a car in Indy more possible.
