The President Benjamin Harrison Home (1230 N. Delaware St.) plays host to an exhibition of more than 100 original sketches and political cartoons created between 1862 and 1912, from the collection of Judge Julian Ridlen. The show presents the evolution of political cartooning during this time when such popular symbols as Uncle Sam, Miss Columbia, the Democratic donkey and the Republican elephant came into vogue. The show opens Sunday, Nov. 22 at 3 p.m. The Star's cartoonist Gary Varvel will be on hand to unveil an original caricature of Pres. Harrison and will sign 50 prints that will be for sale.
