Dead and Company Concert
Dead and Company, consisting of three Grateful Dead members along with John Mayer, Bill Kreutzmann and Oteil Burbridge, played at Klipsch Music Center this past Friday. The Grateful Dead has not played at what used to be known as Deer Creek since 1995, so this was a very big deal for Indianapolis. Crowds gathered outside of the venue on Shakedown Street where venders were selling goods like tie dye shirts, hat pins, Jerry Rolls, stones, and much more.
Italian Street Festival
Holy Rosary Catholic Church has put on the Italian Street Festival since 1983. This is a fundraiser to raise money for the church, and they have been quite successful. It is the most attended church festival in the city and they serve delicious Italian food including pizza, cannoli, tiramisu, and the classic pasta.
Indy's Pride Parade
Our Street Team was there to capture Indy's first Pride Parade. Featuring over 150 groups lined up, the parade captured the attention of the thousands of people there. From all different backgrounds, it was a great day to celebrate the LGBTQ community.
NUVO NightCrawler at Indy Pride Fest 2016
NUVO Nightcrawler's, Rose Wall and Madie Curtis, took on Pride Festival this Saturday at American Legion Mall in downtown Indy.
Last Thursday night at Victory Field, Paul George and Robert Mathis hosted the 2016 Caroline Symmes Celebrity Softball Challenge benefitting Indiana Children's Wish Fund. This marked the 8th year for the softball game featuring the Pacers, Fever, and Colts players.
On the first Thursday night in June, Indy has the annual Monumental Mile that began just 3 years ago. With 9 different categories to participate in, this 5,280ft race is for all ages and levels of experience. Finishing in the hear of Indy, the Circle, participants can enjoy a free beer and fun.
Monumental Mile Selfie Contest
Bright Side Dental and Orthodontics and Nuvo asked you snap to a selfie at the Monumental Photo booth in a chance to win a $500 whitening courtesy of Brightside Dental and Orthodontics. These are our RUNNER ups! Great job everyone!
Dan Wakefield Park Dedication
Today, the 61st and Broadway Park was renamed Dan Wakefield Park, an internationally known author and screen play writer. It is very rare that a park is named after someone who is living, so this event was a big deal to the Indianapolis community. Senator Lugar and Wakefield's other childhood and long term friends came into town for this special ceremony in dedication to Dan Wakefield.
Concerts on the Canal
Every Thursday night in downtown Indianapolis, at the Kruse Family Stardust Terrace, a series known as Concerts on the Canal provides musical entertainment from 6-8pm. Last week, our Street Team captured The Cool City Band performance.
