A wet weekend in Brown County

So, with a 30% chance of rain, what do you think happens when I take a much-deserved day off and go out of town?
It rains.

So, with a 30% chance of rain, what do you think happens when I take a much-deserved day off and go out of town?
It rains.
The weekend started off with a quick stop at Ceramic Dreams, a place I highly reccommend if you are into painting pottery or need an excuse to get a group of women together for some wine and conversation. From there, my new boyfriend Robert picked me up and we headed to Brown County.
We stayed at a fairly new place, Lodge on the Mountain in the Eagle Room. Beautiful place -- out in the middle of no where. The owners live in the top area, and rent out the rest of the rooms. Our room looked out over the lake. No TV, no phone, just blissful quiet. Well, until we tried to leave for dinner! Robert's little red truck didn't want to make it back up the rather steep drive, and one of the owners had to come out and climb on the back of the truck, to add enough weight so we could get traction and make it back up the hill. So note that unless you have an all-terrain vehicle, park up top.
Once we made it onto the road, we headed into Nashville, Ind. We had dinner at the Nashville House, where we encountered the largest plate-fulls of food we had ever seen and a thing called a fried biscuit.
Tired from the ride, too much food and getting the truck up that now infamous hill, we retired for the night -- and anyway, by the time we got done with dinner all the little shops were closed.
The next morning, we awoke to ... rain.
Horseback riding was out of the question.
Wet and cold though, we could still shop. And shop we did. We weren't the only ones braving the rain -- the sidewalks were busy with people in search of cutesy arts and crafts and, if you are Robert, a replica pistol from some war. (I don't know; me, I am a blade and bow and arrow type.) Christmas presents were found and purchased, as was fudge. And socks from the shop that is full of nothing but socks.
We managed to spend over three hours exploring Nashville and, in the end, we were pleased with the experience -- weather be damned.
