BIO: Very often a successful music career takes decades to develop. Learning proper techniques, and honing your craft. But, in some rare and unique cases there are those, artist who take the fast track. First, being born with a God given talent helps, next, surround yourself with very professional and creative people, then throw in the fact that she is barely 11 years old, and there you have it……. Success in the making! Just a little over 6 years ago Em (born Emily Ireland-Toal) started performing at the age of 5 yrs old when she starred in a regional theater’s production of "Annie". Landing the starring role was just the beginning. Later in that same year Em began singing with the Indiana University Children's Choir, which she is still singing with today. She has participated in several local, regional, and national talent competitions. Included in her list of things accomplished she has worked with the famed “MLI Talent and Modeling Agency”. She is featured on MLI’s official website under Success Stories and Recent Press. She was invited by MLI to perform in St. Louis and Detroit in 2004 and has been invited to perform in Orlando, FL at their Summer 2006 international convention. In August of 2005, Em was invited to perform at the Midwest Regional Black Family Reunion festival in Cincinnati, OH, where not only did she perform at the Festival, but she was the only featured performer for the Sponsors Reception. In October of 2005, Em was given a chance to perform with her mentor and long time friend Stephani Parker (The 2005 Chicago Idol winner) and her band when they opened for the incredible Chaka Khan in Gary, IN. Em sang back-up and performed 2 solos. Also in late 2005 Em met and collaborated with Randy Jones of Up Close and Personal Productions. Together they are working on Em’s first full length CD with the first joint “Where I’m From” being a song that Em wrote the lyrics and handled all the vocals on, also featuring Skandal-The-Ruckus Man. Em says “working with Randy on the music is great. He takes my lyrics & poems and visions of the music and helps me put it all together.” Em went on to say “He understands my passion that the music has to be just the right fit for my lyrics.” Rob Bright of 13th Floor Productions says “Em is so easy to work with. To be as young as she is, she has an enormous grasp on what the industry is all about. I look forward to watching her develop and mature.” Branded (By Skandal) “The Princess of R&B” Young Em is postured to take the world by storm…… And now Em's original song "Where I'm From" was recently selected to appear on the soundtrack for the novel, Platinum Dreams by Jacki Kash." Em has been invited to perform again at the Midwest Black Family Reunion Festival at Sawyer Point in Cincinnati, OH on the 19th & 20th of August, 2006. At the present time, Em is working and recording with producer's The Jones' a production company out of Indianapolis, In who produced Em's Hit Single "Serious" which is getting major radio spins throughout the midwest. Em is also working with Lance Tolbert, from Edmonds Entertainment in Los Angeles on another original and an original tune by Lance Tolbert and Stephani Parker and 1 cover tune, (Alicia Keys, "If I Ain't Got You), which will also be completed the end of September. www.myspace.com/emmyit
