Antimacassar
Members: Lauren Moore, Nathan Lucas, and John Boyle III
BIO:
Antimacassar spawned from the depths of the minuscule, corn field-strewn town lovingly known as Danville, Indiana. John Boyle III and Lauren Moore both attended the notorious Danville high school and were familiar with each other through the superb music and theater programs the school offered. It wasn't until their early 20's, though, that the two were united musically. One night, amidst a charming evening of pinot noir, Chavrie, and "The Royal Tenenbaums", the two conspired and wrote their first masterpiece. When played in front of their earliest audiences, it was noted that the talents each offered the other blended amazingly well. Johnny's astonishing guitar playing was almost meant for Lauren's makeshift and haunting melodies. During one of their not too often attended coffee shop shows, the two ran into their third member, Nathan Lucas. Nathan instantaneously heard string parts, other instruments, and harmonies in their music that they just couldn't pass up. From that day on the three began the journey now known as "Antimacassar". They have played numerous coffee shop shows in the Indianapolis, Greenwood, and Valparaiso area, as well as played at a few colleges throughout Indiana. Yet, they are looking for more. Cappuccino machines aren't normally in the same key as their music. More than anything, they want to bring their style of music to life and make sure as many people as possible hear it.

We've been labeled as an "acoustic/indie/folk/" sounding band, but we've been known to play bluegrass, blues, and reggae as well. We like to say we're a combination of things. Think thunderstorm, symphony, love, stringed instruments, and the thoughts in our heads as best as we can express them. We've been compared to Iron & Wine, The Hush Sound, and Regina Spektor.
