Yo-yo contest

The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art hosts the Mid-East Classic Yo-Yo Contest, welcoming more than 50 competitors in five different class divisions. Watch yo-yo competition led by Takeshi Kamisato (Ho Chunk) and National and World Yo-Yo Champion Paul Yath. There will also be demonstrations and free beginner’s workshops with Don Fisher. The contest happens May 31, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and June 1, noon-5 p.m. The event is free with general museum admission.

I can affirm that the exhibition offers much to savor, in addition to a gift shop the likes of which you’ve never tasted. It offers history and lore...
