Bryan Scary and the Shredding Tears, Everything, Now!, Everthus the Deadbeats, This is My Condition

Bryan Scary played every instrument but the drums on his debut album, “The Shredding Tears by Bryan Scary,” and he even recorded it himself in his Brooklyn, N.Y., apartment. The album has since been compared to Queen, XTC, the Kinks, David Bowie and even a Sergeant Pepper-era Beatles. His psychedelic indie pop, DIY mentality and reputation for theatrical live shows, complete with ghoulish makeup and costumes, have earned rave reviews from alternative media. His appearance at Radio Radio this Saturday with his band, the eponymous Shredding Tears, is in fact part of a tour sponsored by “Filter” magazine. Rounding out the show are Muncie-based bands Everything, Now!, Everthus the Deadbeats, as well as This is My Condition, from Kansas.

Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers, Twenty Minutes to Park

When Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers release their new album, “Glassjaw Boxer,” on July 10, they can already count on the support of the moderate-sized but loyal fan base they have drummed up during the past two years by logging thousands of miles of touring and playing over 300 shows. Kellogg and the Sixers play soft alt-country songs that would sound at home on the radio alongside the likes of the Counting Crows and Ryan Adams. At Sunday’s show the band will play with the local acoustic duo Twenty Minutes to Park, who released their debut album, “Can’t Stand Still,” late last year.

Lenka Dusilova and Bob America

Award-winning Czech singer Lenka Dusilova will take the stage at Radio Radio Monday night while on tour promoting the U.S. release of her latest album, “Mezi Svety,” or “Between Worlds.” Dusilova has been singing professionally since 1988 when she was 13. Since then she has been part of, recorded or performed with some the Czech Republic’s biggest musical acts, including the pop groups Lucie and Pusa, as well as the folk group Czechomor. The soulful singer has also won and been nominated for several Academy of Music Angel Awards, which are comparable to the Grammy. Also playing Monday night at Radio Radio is San Francisco’s Bob America, a mellow singer-songwriter with a great sense of humor. America is celebrating the release of his self-titled debut album.
