Jazz is moving to Indy’s Westside at Stasia’s Supper Club (The Event Center), 2441 Lafayette Road. Every Friday and Saturday, live jazz and blues will be performed from 8 p.m. until midnight with a $5 cover. Exquisite dining options are available during the shows.

Appearing Aug. 1-2 is Indy’s renowned B-3 organist Melvin Rhyne in a trio setting. Guitarist Steve Weakley Trio plays Aug. 8-9.

Thursday, July 31, Animals and All That Jazz welcomes crowd favorite Gregg Bacon, who is back from his honeymoon after getting married earlier this month. Bacon will perform with special guest vocalist Staci McCrackin, 11-year-old saxophone prodigy Bryan Thompson and physician’s band “What’s Up Doc” with Charles Learner. The performance runs 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Café on the Commons stage. Rain site is in the Party Pavilion. Zoo members admitted free; admission fee is regular zoo fee, children under 1 year admitted free.

Owl Studios Jazz at the Point — presented by Take Note TV, WICR and the Eagle Creek Park Foundation — will feature national recording artist Steve Allee and his Trio Tuesday, Aug. 5. The concert runs from 7-8:30 p.m and is free, with a park admission of $5 per vehicle. Lawn chairs, blankets and picnicking are welcome, with dining options available from The Jazz Kitchen.
