by Nikki Dahl May 3, 2007

Protesters of all ethnic backgrounds joined together Tuesday May 1st 2007, also being dubbed “May Day”, to march the streets of Indianapolis in hopes congress would hear their demands for Immigration reform. After an overwhelming turn out in 2006, with attendance reaching to 20,000, organizers hopes of a similar turn out fell short with only 6-8 thousand showing for this years rally.

Some carried home-made signs with messages such as “stop destroying families” and “we’re all immigrants” others just walked the 6 blocks with American flags and yelling cadence. All of them carried the same message though, they want the government to stop deporting illegal aliens, and grant amnesty to those who are already here.

No one really knows if the government has heard these pleas, or if they plan to help them in their quest to be American citizens, and only time will tell. Until then, they can only continue their cadence and hope someone is listening
