George Thorogood & the Destroyers are the blues/rock equivalent of a shot and a beer, or in Thorogood’s case — one bourbon, one scotch and one beer.

For more than 30 years, Thorogood has been a bridge builder of blues and rock. Inspired by Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Bo Diddley and Elmore James, he gained national press with his recordings for Rounder Records in the 1970s. By the ’80s, he signed with EMI, and his song “Bad to The Bone” (on the album of the same name) has been a classic rock and sports arena staple ever since.

Back when MTV aired music videos, the “Bad to the Bone” video was an instant classic, during which Thorogood takes on Bo Diddley in a game of pool.

Thorogood recorded several albums for EMI and CMC International before signing with Eagle. His latest album, “The Hard Stuff,” was released in 2006, proving that Thorogood continues to mix acoustic and electric guitar, ’50s blues tradition and 21st century rock guitar muscle.
