There are plenty of bands playing grind metal, but none with the pinpoint rage of Pig Destroyer. From their beginnings in the late ’90s to 2004’s masterpiece, “Terrifyer,” and now their latest decimating set, “Phantom Limb,” their blatant disregard for anything decent is still apparent.

Pig Destroyer’s sound is still a stentorian, full-frontal attack, with a blizzard of beats, a lone guitar with jet-engine power and a wild-eyed, foaming-at-the-mouth singer with a keen ability to turn his psychosis on like a switch.

The lyrics — to neatly package this — are as abominable as the music, clamored by a dark soul with a taste for the detestable and a way with words like Charles Baudelaire. And Indianapolis will get to witness Pig Destroyer in all their corrupting glory when the trio makes a rare Midwest appearance, playing at this year’s Dude Fest July 27-28 at the Harrison Center for the Arts. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
