Warmongering capitalist political parties

Warmongering capitalist political parties

Al Gore represents the business-owning class and their capitalist interests and he leaves out much more than encouraging a "grass-roots effort to change the ways we use our natural resources" as David Hoppe writes in his July 12-19 NUVO column "Another Inconvenient Truth."

Although Gore is to be commended for sounding the global warming alarm with his documentary, he does not illustrate the fact that it is the capitalist-imperialist drive for profit that is destroying our global environment through wasteful industrial development and it is the advanced capitalist countries with 15 percent of the world's population that consume 80 percent of the world's natural resources, leaving most of the world in poverty.

This unsustainable and immoral way of life and conducting business must end and be replaced with a humane socialist economic system where industry exists for the benefits of public social use rather than for private profit. In his column, Hoppe warns that Republicans and Democrats will go extinct if we don't act now to stop global warming. Ensuring the survival of the warmongering capitalist political parties should be the least of our concerns because of the environmental, social and economic problems they have caused in the name of profit.
