Von Trapp children...still children!
Actually, they’re the great-grandchildren of Captain Von Trapp of The Sound of Music fame. But like those original Alpine kids, this latest generation can sing, and sing they will for the opening weekend of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra’s 2006-2007 Northwest Airlines Pops Series at Hilbert Circle Theatre, Friday, Sept. 22 - Sunday, Sept. 24 with four concerts celebrating the Broadway musical and classic film that made their family famous. Principal Pops conductor Jack Everly will lead the orchestra through such favorites as “Do Re Mi,” “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Every Mountain,” and “Edelweiss.” During the first half of the program, the ISO will perform a broad spectrum of popular classics, including “Hooray for Hollywood,” “Thanks for the Memories” and “September Song.”
