Woodruff Place, one of the first “contained residential subdivisions in the nation,” will hold its 33rd annual flea market this weekend. The 135-year-old neighborhood has been included on the National Register of Historic Places since 1972.

Highlights of the flea market will include an assortment of art, collectibles, crafts, furniture, clothes and antiques for sale among the fountains and historic homes. The event will also include food and live entertainment.

A community information fair sponsored by Teacher’s Treasures will also be at the flea market. The organization provides classroom supplies for more than 200 underprivileged schools. Parking is available with a donation in the Teacher’s Treasures lot located across from the neighborhood.

The event will be held June 7, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and June 8, 10 a.m.-5 p.m Woodruff Place Neighborhood is located at 1800 East between Michigan and 10th streets. Admission is free. For more on Woodruff Place: www.woodruffplace.org.
