Thumbsup: Adding acres
by Editors Jan 16, 2008

Those environmental license plates — the ones with the eagle — have enabled the Indiana Heritage Trust to preserve over 50,000 acres for wildlife habitats and recreation. The trust has made the license plates available since 1993; drivers who choose the plate donate $25, enabling the trust to raise $25 million over the past 15 years. In 2007, the trust purchased over 1,700 acres, including a 200-acre addition with a glacial lake in Pokagon State Park.
