The Kite Runner
by Ed Johnson-Ott Mar 26, 2008

Three and a half stars (PG-13)

Marc Foster’s adaptation of Khaled Hosseini’s acclaimed novel of friendship, betrayal and redemption is a bit too pat at a couple of points, but does the book right for the most part. In Afghanistan, the relationship between two best pals drastically changes after one boy is brutally assaulted while the other hides and does nothing. 20 years later in America, the now-grown boy gets a chance to atone. 122 minutes. DVD INFO: Includes a commentary track and two behind-the-scenes featurettes.
