The Hunting Party
The Hunting Party
Three and a half stars (R)
Richard Gere
In Bosnia, a fallen-from-grace reporter (Gere), his pal and ex-cameraman (Terrence Howard) and a network executive’s son (Jesse Eisenberg), searching for an interview with a Serbian war criminal, are mistaken for CIA assassins. The film shifts wildly in tone, from serious to comic to surreal to tragic and back again, playing like a good yarn told by a foreign correspondent drinking with some colleagues in an exotic bar in the wee hours of the night. 103 minutes. DVD INFO: Includes a commentary track with writer/director Richard Shepard, deleted scenes, a making-of featurette, an interview with the original journalists and the Esquire story on which the film is based.
