The Bank Job

3.5 stars (R)

Solid old-fashioned heist thriller inspired by the infamous 1971 robbery that took place at the Lloyds Bank in Marylebone, London. Saffron Burrows (“Enigma”) lures small-time crook Jason Statham (“The Transporter”) into a bank job that looks too good to resist. Turns out they land in the middle of a major scheme involving high-level corruption, murder and sexual scandal. Complex, well-acted, satisfying fare. 111 minutes. DVD INFO: Includes bonus footage, extended scenes and several featurettes.
