The Backyardigans Live! Tale of the Mighty Knights
Three stars
Murat Centre; May 17-18
Fun show based on the popular Nickelodeon kids show of kid animals acting out adventures in their backyard. King Pablo assigns two noble knights to guard a precious egg that literally grows legs and walks away. Everyone from the king, the knights, a sassy fairy princess and a grabbing goblin must have this precious egg. Kid-level rock and hip-hop music accompanies the show. At 90 minutes with a 25-minute (too long) intermission, the show’s other flaw was that the recorded music drowned out some of the vocals. If you’re under the age of 10 (like the little lady sitting next to me), add an extra star to the rating. Parents had fun, too.
