Three stars

Indiana State Museum

Explore the world of fast motion. The exhibit is essentially an educational arcade. Speed features several interactive stations that allow younger folks to take a closer look at the physical components of going fast, including drag, acceleration, sound waves and stopping. An ideal exhibition for field trips or burgeoning race car drivers or engineers, Speed features activities and special events until January. Best about the exhibit, however, is that it gives an excuse to explore the fantastic State Museum building and permanent collection, including the remarkable (and somewhat surreal) recreation of the L.S. Ayers tearoom. Through Jan. 21; 317-232-1637.
