Special election next Tuesday
by Editors Mar 5, 2008

Residents of the 7th Congressional District in Marion County will go to the polls next Tuesday, March 11, to choose a temporary replacement for the recently deceased Julia Carson.

Jon Elrod (wwwjonelrod.com), currently serving his first term in the Indiana General Assembly, was chosen by Republicans as their candidate.

Andre Carson (www.andrecarsonforcongress.com), currently serving his first term on the Indianapolis City-County Council, was chosen by Democrats.

Libertarian Sean Shepard (www.shepard2008.com) is also running for the congressional seat.

Regardless of who wins the special election, the office will be up for grabs again in the primary race this May, with a final replacement being chosen in the November general election.
