DJ Escape
Talbott Street
Saturday, Dec. 30, 9 p.m., $6

With the looks and personality of film star Vin Diesel, internationally acclaimed DJ Escape attracts large crowds to his shows. Talbott Street will be no exception as Escape delivers his base-driven beats Saturday, Dec. 30.

In touch with what his fans want to hear, Talbott’s promoters predict that his tribal sounds and vocal mixes will fill the room with high energy and pack what’s been dubbed Indy’s “best dance floor.”

Escape believes the dance scene is back and better than ever with upbeat sounds, as opposed to the downtrodden, repetitive beats of the past. He strives to pass this enthusiasm to younger generations with his live sets.

Growing up in the Queens, N.Y., hip-hop scene, it wasn’t until encountering top DJ Junior Vasquez that Escape turned from playing hip-hop to spinning house music. After 11 album compilations, eight singles and the opportunity to work with musical inspirations like Vasquez, Escape is achieving national and personal goals at the age of 28. He uses his success to appeal to younger audiences.

Escape’s show promises to be full of mainstream mixes unlike any remixes listeners are likely to hear on the radio or MTV. From remixed tracks of John Mellencamp and Gwen Stefani to his own edgy and innovative material, Escape puts the pop hits alongside new and unique sounds. Find out for yourself. DJ Escape may just give you a head start on dancing into the new year.
