Circus Devils

Four stars

The godfather of indie rock is at it again. This time, however, Robert Pollard has teamed up with Todd and Tim Tobias to create the moody songs of Sgt. Disco. Pollard lends his versatile voice to the album’s many different melodies, which range from hard rock to theatrical rock opera and beyond. Theoretically, Circus Devils’ musical alchemy is difficult to understand, but in practice it works brilliantly.

Sounds like: Sebadoh, Pavement
